6/28 - Cub Scout Fishing

Hello,

Assistant Scoutmaster Miller here with our first Blog entry. This is where we can share ideas, talk about recent trips and bounce ideas off each other.

On Monday, June 28 Troop10 hosted Den 3 (E) from Pack 38 to our fishin' hole. Everyone had a great time - except for the various fire ant attacks. I think all the boys - Cubs and Boy Scouts alike - caught at least one fish! This outing gave the participating Boy Scouts a great opportunity to use the EDGE Technique to guide the Cub Scouts in fishing techniques. EDGE is part of the requirements for Tenderfoot rank and this was a great way to utilize the skill. We also had the maiden voyage of the SS Troop 10 Maritime Assault Vehicle - otherwise known as our free fishing boat. It didn't sink and the boys got to practice teamwork skills in puttering about the lake with paddles.
